Seeing friends after a long time is nice indeed but it can also hold a certain weirdness, I totally understand you. And I guess we all have a guy (or girl) that will be loved in a way forever. I think it's only natural to defend someone out of your "pack", so it's not that surprising I think ;). Except maybe if you didn't know before that this person was actually part of the "pack" in the first place and just realized it through your feelings. That would be interesting indeed though I guess it happens very rarely.
