shadow_wolfess is coming over tomorrow and staying till Sunday and we're spending the whole next week in the backwoods of Laitila, this is probably my last chance to make an entry before 2009.
Christmas went well enough. Rice porridge, gingerbread cookies and Love, Actually with mum. And my older brother Johannes being a mopey arse, as usual.
I got some pretty nice presents as well, the best was probably a printed copy of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic in gorgeous frames. <3 Now I can experience weird fits of patriotic pride every time I look at it. *chuckle*

1. What did you do in 2008 that you had never done before?
Visited UK. Visited Ireland. Spent a night at an airport. Tasted Guinness. Had a boyfriend, sort of. Walked through the Helsinki downtown dressed as a guy.
Probably some other stuff as well I can't remember right now.
2. Did you make a New Year's promise and did you keep it? Will you make one this year?
I didn't make one and I'm not sure if I will this year either.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone die?
Säde did.
5. Which countries did you visit?
United Kingdom (very briefly) and Ireland.
6. What would you like to include to 2009 that 2008 didn't have?
Some (even minor) academic achievements. Better mental and physical health. Better luck in love for some of my friends.
7. Which dates of 2008 you will always remember?
1. - 6. 4. Especially 2. 4., the day I first set foot on the soil of Ireland.
8. What was your greatest accomplisment this year?
Um. I need to think about this.
9. Your greatest failure?
I constantly fail at life, so...
10. Did you suffer from diseases or injuries?
Not really, no.
11. Best thing you bought?
Flight tickets.
12. Who behaved silly in a bad sense?
Many people, probably.
13. Whose actions depressed you?
My own, mostly. Some people's actions just made me furious.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent. Books. Concert tickets.
15. What were you very very very thrilled about?
Trip to Ireland. Duh.

Hmm. The Islander and Last of the Wilds by Nightwish. If I Ever Leave This World Alive by Flogging Molly. Óró Sé Do Bheatha 'Bhaile.

a) happier or more sad?
The same, I think.

The same.

Pretty much the same. :D

Studied. Been social.

Restriced myself and been generally a fucked-up spineless coward.

By hanging around at my mum's place with my brothers and watching telly.

Life On Mars, Doctor Who and Gossip Girl. I also finally managed to watch Band of Brothers and loved it.

Rebels: The Irish Rising of 1916 by Peter De Rosa. Runemarks by Joanne Harris. Oh, and I must say also Only Human by Gareth Roberts.
25. Biggest musical find?
Snow Patrol. David Bowie. Faun. Irfan. Vas.
26. What did you want and get?
Everything to go well in Ireland. A nice birthday party.
27. What did you want and not get?
Some of my friends to be happier. Clarity.
28. Favourite movie this year?
The Wind That Shakes The Barley. Once.
29. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
Had a housewarming/birthday party at mine and Ella's new flat. I was 22.
30. What one thing would have made this year more satisfactory?
The aforementioned clarity and my friends' happiness.

The usual, pretty much. Boho chic. :D

33. What political thing was of interest to you?
Irish political history. :D The US Presidential elections.

Some of my friends from the old crowd. I saw them way too seldom this year.
