Well, isn't this fun.

My muse apparently has decided to wake from her dormant state and is now weaving tales inside my head and prodding me in the ribs with her finger to make me write them down.
Which practically means I now have Jack and Elizabeth having snarky conversations in my head with occasional wanted or unwanted meddling by Captain Teague almost 24/7. Very nice.

But I'm afraid this one wouldn't stay inside borders of an one-shot and I'm not sure if my English skills, imagination and perfectionism allow that. I've never written anything multi-chapter before, especially not in English (and this one has to be written in English, anything else just wouldn't do).
And besides, so many others (especially [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra and [livejournal.com profile] djarum99 and [livejournal.com profile] alchemistc with whom I seem to be sharing brain at least partially) have written the post-AWE universe so perfectly I wouldn't probably even dare to post it anywhere.

But my muse tells me that Calypso is a jealous mistress with a wicked sense of humor.
And that Jack got his sabre, his generous spirit and his love of freedom from his mother (and practically everything else from his father, naturally).
And that Elizabeth Swann has three new names, but only one of them matters: "Your Majesty".

Basically it would fall into this cathegory:

"Once upon a time, there was a Queen who was the beloved of the Ferryman, and who took a mortal man as her consort, a trickster who went to the land of the dead and back. A bard stood behind her throne, and the Lady of the Sea blessed her."

As put by Jack in [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra's magnificent Cradle Tales.

Mmh, I should probably finish my fanmix as well someday, named Deep Water (Soulmates Never Die) after its first and last track (Deep Water by Charon and Sleeping With Ghosts by Placebo, respectively). Too bad I suck at all kinds of photomanipulation/graphic artwork so I can't make it covers. Meh.

And why is my Winamp playing me only Sonata? O_o
Gravenimage I understand because it kinda fits as it's on that fanmix after all, but Don't Say A Word and Shamandalie as well? Interesting...

Deep Water and Sleeping With Ghosts? Interresting combination.... Which other songs do you use (since you stated "after its first and last track") ?

Just one thing about the movie; remembered it again because you named Calypso. Davy Jones heartbleed started when she wasn't there when he could get on land again after 10 years. But where was she? Considering that she once had 'some fun' with Captain Jack Sparrow and that Davy seems more angry with Jack than only because Jack didn't pay his debt yet....
But than the movie was so impressive that I might have missed some of the clues about why she wasn't there and how long ago it was...

The tracklisting so fars is:

1. Charon - Deep Water
2. Epica - Solitary Ground
3. Tarot - Tides
4. The 69 Eyes - Velvet Touch (original)
5. Sonata Arctica - Gravenimage
6. Opeth - Soldier of Fortune
7. Nightwish - The Siren
8. Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts
Bonus track: Siouxsie and the Banshees - Face to Face

Pretty angstastic, yes, but so was AWE for Jack, no? :p

And well, I can't claim I know everything about the story of Davy and Calypso, especially because the movie made it confusing to say the least, but I believe her "betrayal" (her explanation in the movie: "I can't help it, it's in me nature. Would you love me if I was anything else than what I am?") happened before "the King and his men stole the Queen from her bed and bound her in her bones" (which is one of the things that make things confusing because apparently Davy also managed to be the Pirate King in addition to the ferryman of the dead), and that happened some hundred years ago from AWE already.
So basicially I guess Calypso just didn't show up, probably she forgot the date or something, being a fickle sea goddess after all. And then Davy got his male ego woundedand got all cranky and tentacled. :p

And of course they had to make sure that Elizabeth stays "bound in her bones" and is true and faithful and blah and shows up 10 years later so that Will won't become cranky and tentacled as well. *rolls eyes and mutters something about sexism and character regression*

Tarot - Tides *heart-shaped eyes*
And the 69 eyes song is also such a good pick... well actually they all are, apart from the SA song which I never heard since I do not particiluary like Mr. Kakko's voice.

*nods* I forgot that it would take some time for Davy Jones to become all "fishy" too. Calypse is such a cool character in the story, though her releashing was kinda lame.

That's something I don't understand either! During all three movies Elizabeth is potraited as a "rebelious young woman" but than all of a sudden she appears to be the good housemom waiting for daddy to return *rolls eyes* It even appears that she went back to living on land judging from that scene.

Yup... I've pretty much decided to ignore that after-the-credits bit. Whose "brilliant" idea was that anyway? It's certainly not Ted and Terry's (the writers) style, their female characters are usually kick-ass and independent, even after becoming wives or moms (see Elena from The Mask of Zorro or Fiona from Shrek, for example).
In my post-AWE world Elizabeth is still the Pirate King and lives in the Shipwreck Cove with Teague teaching her the Code and ensuring her sovereignity (as I'm pretty sure no one dares to mess with that guy *grin*). And even if she does have some whelp lovechild (how does a practically undead guy with no heart conceive a child anyway?), his name is bloody well Jonathan James William, not William III.
And there's no way in hell she'll never see Jack and Gibbs and everyone again.

Gah. Anyway. Rant over. :p
